October Updates
Hello there,
As fall settles in our family has been rediscovering a beloved classic: Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House on the Prairie. It’s been an adventure of its own, especially as our children marvel at how ‘Pa’ built their home with nothing but wood from the creek bottom and pure determination. In a time when four simple walls, no glass in the windows, and a door with leather strap hinges were enough to create warmth and comfort, the story feels both distant and surprisingly familiar.
The joy and simplicity the Ingalls found in building from the land, using their hands, and making the most of what they had resonates deeply with us. From them, a simple mantel with a cherished heirloom and a table covered with a checkered cloth made it feel like home.
Of course, technology has advanced tremendously since the 1860s, and the process of creating a home has become far more specialized and detailed. We fully embrace these modern innovations, but even with these advancements, the essence of making a home remains unchanged. Whether constructed from simple logs or designed with intricate details, it’s always about the people who live there and the memories they create within its walls.
It’s a privilege to be part of that journey with each of you, helping craft a place that holds all the everyday moments that make a house truly a home. And, to echo the words of Laura Ingalls, ‘Home is the nicest word there is.’
Warm Regards,
Hayk & Karen

These homes certainly go beyond a simple log cabin… but we think the Ingalls would appreciate how the designs support a connection with nature, while offering the comfort and innovation that today’s families expect.
